Hello NYC!

I thought to share some of my pics from the Big Apple, especially the shops I visited! I did so much shopping, mostly window shopping :) ! It’s like another world out there, I was like a kid in a candy store. I literally gasped for air every time I would walk into a shop, I felt right at home! Top Shop and Zara were by far the most exciting to me, firstly because I could afford stuff in there and secondly because the clothes are soooo beautiful! Don’t get me started with the shoes. K let the pictures do the talking…

Welcome to Saks 5th Avenue..Unless you got the moola, absolutely nothing here is affordable but just do bask in the beauty was enough for me! The store is 5 floors of nothing but heaven; first floor is cosmetics and bags and the rest of the floors are designer haven! Oscar de Larenta, MaxMara, Marc Jacobs, Rag and Bone etc.. What I really loved about Saks was the way it’s structured, unlike other department stores (which I loathe), each floor is like little boutiques of different designer wear making it clear and visible, no need to sift through racks and racks of clothes!

NY NY!!

So today is my 5th day in the Big Apple! I really meant to blog everyday when I got here but with all the touristy things, the shopping and the WALKING..you come back exhausted in no mood for anything but your bed! Needless to say, this place is exhilarating, such an eye-opener and I can see why they call it the “concrete jungle”!!Really anything goes in NY, people are so liberal and expressive in the way they dress, the way they walk, they way they carry themselves! there’s no conforming, people are all different and super stylish in their own way!

All you see in the movies is exactly that;on the subway there are the earphones, the high heels, the chic, the rockers, the simple, the corporate! it’s absolutely fascinating to me how liberal people are with the way they dress, nothing really looks outrageous. I wish I was able to do that back home, instead of always worrying about how “overdressed” I will look!

Unfortunately I left my camera cord at home but pics definitely to come…bye for now!

Forever New Launch

I’ve raved about Forever New since starting this blog and I must say I’m a little confused as to why the brand is being officially launched now in SA. Nonetheless I went with Mili ”missmillib” to the launch last night, which had its ups and downs but overall a cool event on a Thursday night.

I’m inspired by Amanda, the woman who started the brand four years ago with her husband Dipendra Goenka. Forever New is now nearing 100 stores worldwide! How does that happen?! She’s South African by the by so here here!

They have stores in Fourways Mall, Sandton City, Rosebank Mall and Menlyn in Pretoria! If you haven’t yet, check it out for a Gossip Girl inspired look and reasonable prices!

Who’s That?

Look who I found on Mili’s blog..me! This was taken at the Pulchritude sale on Saturday and I’m dressed in a Christopher Strong Top and Kimbo Skirt, both Pulchritude finds! If you haven’t been to a Pulchritude sale as yet, let this blog post entice you…

New York Shopping!

In about 2 weeks, I’ll be jetting off to the Big Apple! *still doesn’t sound real*. I got excited thinking about how close the 22nd is so I had a look around Top Shop and Zara to remind me of the sea of possibilities!

I probably have to prepare myself mentally (so I don’t pass out) and physically (strength for the shopping) for this trip! BRING IT ON!!!

Sale Party!

Mili had a fabulously awesome sale party at her house last night which turned out to be such a success! Besides the champers of course, it was all about the clothes! Watch out for these new kids on the block “For The Love of Flo”!They make such pretty simple thingies all out of recycled goods! I’m wearing two of their tops I bought below:

Celebrate Life!

I’m feeling quite emotional writing this. I came across this online magazine via Vie’s blog whilst doing the usual blog surfing. I had never heard of the CL magazine before but because it’s under the same umbrella as the Studio 8 mag, I checked it out…and wow I’m amazed! The first issue I’m busy reading is particularly emotional for me because it’s dedicated to a dear friend, Lelethu Lumkwana who passed away 3 November 2008. Those who knew Leza will know she was an exceptional Writer/Journalist, a rich soul full of wisdom way beyond her 24 years!

This particular issue is about celebrating life and the articles are beautifully written (but might I add there are a few spelling mistakes here and there and trust a Business Analyst to spot those :) )! But if you get a chance, pop in here and read!

Big Ups to Creative Editor George Matsheke and his team for firstly honoring Leza’s memory in this way and for such great piece of work! I’m inspired!

Lust Haves!

Two things have caught my attention for summer which I must have:

Coppelia shorts!too cute!I hope they are high-waisted!

No not Zac Afron! I’m lusting for a sandal strap wedge!
